Hi Paul,

I emailed you but got no response so I thought I would post this instead.

I want to link my ebay store and my web site.

I am interested in driving my ebay customers to my web site by linking both the inventory as well as using my web site's shopping cart for ebay check out.

Is this possible?

Thanks for your time.

HI,

Sorry i missed your email.

I am not sure you can join ebay to your script, but why not just setup an ebay store to save the hassle of 3rd party integration? Unless you already have that ?

Hi Paul,

I already have an ebay store

www.stores.ebay.com/goughsgifts

I have purchased from other ebay stores and after "checkout" it sends me to their web site.

Ebay does not allow me to advertise my web site in my store. The only place I can advertise my web site is on my "about me" page.

I am trying to drive traffic to my web site from ebay. I send a flyer when I ship product but the return has been low.

Isnt that set in paypal etc as a default return i.e. you can return to ebay or it gives a link to the default return inside of paypal.

Yes, but I don't think I can access that when using my ebay store.

I know that I can edit this in my own shopping cart in paypal.

What do you mean by not sure you can edit it ?

What I mean is have the default return in paypal to go back to your site (with paypal you either set a return_url in the input string you send to paypal, or you can store a value in your paypal account and it will return to that for you)

Ebay might set its own return and it will then use that.
I think im confusing myself lol.

I think you are confusing yourself as well.

In paypal, you can not edit the "return" address in your shopping cart. you can when creating paypal buttons etc for your web site.

Is this the only option you know of?

Well,

if the button passed to paypal from ebay or any button has no return address, it will use the one that is in your account.

Not sure if ebay uses the return url or a special purchasing system setup in paypal just for ebay.

Why not contact some sellers on ebay that you know have added there own url etc and see how they do it ?
