Hi

Recently I have been noticing a strange url listed in my stats.
It seems to be some sort of a session file of a regular html page that I already have uploaded, and they are both showing the same information. It's really hard to explain, but I'll try! I don't know if I can post the actual link here so I am going to just use examples and not the real urls.

The normal html file:
http://www.example.com/example/example.html

The file that I can't figure out where it's coming from looks something like this:
http://www.example.com/example/example. ... M2Hh0TmvLu

I have looked in the files I have uploaded and can't find anything that I may have accidently uploaded to have created this file.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Ask your host to check your logs to see if any bad queries are being sent to your html files.

is the session
Quote:
phpsession=
or just
Quote:
session=
?

Hi Paul! How are you?

Well, it's just session= not the other one. It's not many requests, but enough to wonder why, and where the file came from.

Thanks!

Hi Cajuns,

Not to bad yourself?

Do you wanna send me a screenshot via PM so I can seen an example of what you mean. Im confused myself why a .html file would have a session generated on top of it, unless you are using mod rewrite etc.

Good, thanks! I want to thank you for taking the time to deal with this poor fool!

Hope it's okay, I'll send you the link in a PM. Not quite sure how to put a screenshot in the PM.

I am using mod rewrite, but only for php files and not for html files.

Thanks again!

Your more than welcome.
to screen shot in a PM is the same as posted in a thread, you just host the image on a image host like imageshack.us and post the [*img][*/img] links without the * in the PM/thread.
